Glass vs. Plastic Milk Bottles - People in the past used milk bottles made of glass rather than plastic. In glass bottles have Borosilicate Glass compounds, which are compounds for all laboratory equipment. With the presence of these compounds, glass bottles can maintain the temperature in the bottle. Bottles are also not easily broken or cracked when boiled, making it easier to sterilize the bottle.

But over time the community began to change its mindset, which originally used milk bottles, now switching to using plastic bottles. One of the reasons is that the glass bottle has a mass that is heavy enough to easily break when falling and endanger the fruit. However, the amount of news about plastic bottles is potentially bad for baby's health. Then, which is better?

The most worrying thing about plastic bottles is that they contain a chemical compound called Bisphenol A (BPA). These compounds are usually found in materials made from cans, usually for the manufacture of compact disks. While for glass bottles made from glass do not have chemicals that will be absorbed by milk and drink by your baby. But you must be thinking, how can a small child drink milk from a glass bottle that is heavy enough and easily broken when falling.

There are three (3) kinds of baby bottles namely ordinary plastic bottles, disposable plastic bottles and glass bottles. To choose which bottle is better, look at the numbers at the bottom of the bottle.

~ # 1, # 2 and # 4 indicate that the bottle is made of polyethylene.

~ # 5 indicates that the bottle is made of polypropylene.

~ # 7 indicates that the bottle is made of polycarbonate so that there is a BPA compound in it.

Numbers 1, 2, 4 and 5 can be used for your baby safely. But now there have been many glass milk bottles whose outer sides have been coated with silicon, so that glass bottles are not easily broken when falling from a height.
