Mercedes Pole Australia GP 1 - 2 - Lewis Hamilton continued his dominance in the F1 Australian GP by taking pole position. He outperformed his teammate at Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas.

After sweeping three free practice sessions, Hamilton became the fastest in the Australian GP qualifying session. In a session held at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit on Saturday (03/16/2019), Hamilton recorded a time of 1 minute 20.486 seconds. He was 0.112 seconds ahead of Bottas.

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing rider Max Verstappen broke the dominance of Mercedes and Ferrari in the front row by finishing fourth. Two Haas riders, Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen, continued their good performances in free practice by taking sixth and seventh in qualifying.
