No Samsung Galaxy S10 Iris Scanner?

No Samsung Galaxy S10 Iris Scanner? - There is one feature that is reduced in the Galaxy S10 rather than its predecessor. This feature is an iris scanner or "iris scanner" which functions as a security key. This iris scanner feature is used to recognize the user's iris. Samsung first introduced this feature in the Galaxy Note 7 to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus last year. But in the trio of Galaxy S10 released in 2019 this feature was removed. Why is that?.

According to Head of IM Product Marketing of Samsung Electronics Indonesia, Denny Galant, the reason the feature of the iris scanner was eliminated was to maximize the display so that the top looks thinner. According to Denny, the iris scanner feature requires space for sensors. With the elimination of this feature, the space for these sensors can be maximized for the screen.

"Because we want to optimize the Infinity-O screen. Everything is pulled up. The iris scanner has two sensors at the top, so that the screen becomes full so we pull it off," Denny said at the Galaxy S10 launch event in the South Jakarta area on Wednesday (6 / 3/2019).

Nevertheless, according to Denny, instead of this iris scanner Samsung pinned an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for security. He also promises that this feature is no less safe than the iris scanner.

"Instead we give ultrasonic fingerprint, which is no less safe than iris scanners," said Denny.

This ultrasonic fingerprint scanning technology is claimed to be more accurate than conventional fingerprint scanners. Because this technology can scan a user's fingerprint with a 3D pattern, in contrast to ordinary fingerprints that only scan in 2D. The news that the removal of the iris scanner feature has actually been blown since 2018. Samsung first applied this technology to the Galaxy Note 7 (2016).
